A Special Season in our Marriage Ministry...

This month we would like to highlight our marriage ministry here as it has been especially sweet these past few months--we have had the privilege of participating in three weddings which were all such joyous occasions for our whole family!!! And reflecting on the significance of "a wedding" makes us truly feel blessed to have had a summer so "full" of weddings-----here are the three couples we have had the privilege to walk beside this past year... Guesly and Katie Germain--June 15...

Jhonny and Vanessa Rodriguez--August 18...

Luis and Loida Oscar---September 1...

We were blessed to be the legal witnesses for Gues and Katie at their "legal wedding" first...

And we prayed with each of them before the ceremony...

Luis and Loida spent the first night of their honeymoon in our guest house--a first for us!!! What a sweet blessing that was!!!

And we served them their first meal together as a married couple---breakfast on our front patio...

And last weekend we decided to bring the three couples together to share a meal, enjoy a beautiful Sunday afternoon on the mountain and talk about life as "married couples". It was extra-special to see how the Lord used this time to teach and encourage us all as couples and Christ-followers--we plan to continue these get togethers --please pray for these new marriages and marriage in general--a good marriage produces much, much good fruit for so many!!!

A final "marriage ministry highlight"... Our first two years here on the island we had the privilege to mentor a number of North American missionary couples--since we had not yet learned to communicate on a deep heart level in Spanish, this was one of the ways the Lord still used our experience to mentor others---we have so many wonderful memories of times together with these sweet couples and we still maintain contact with most of them. One of these couples, Eric and Sunshine, have just moved back to the states to pursue another ministry opportunity, and they asked to meet with us one last time to "debrief" before returning stateside.

It was so encouraging for us to see how much they had matured in their marriage relationship and in their faith--we were so grateful to God to give us a "glimpse" of this "fruit" of the ministry and to be able to support and pray for them as they move along in their journey of faith and ministry. Please join us in praying for this couple, Eric and Sunshine, and their young son, Colton. They are loved and will be missed by many here. Thanks to all who have faithfully supported our ministry here these past five years--God works through you to make it possible for us to do what we do and what we love!!!
