THE "HIGHS" AND "THE LOWS"...

This past month we experienced probably our hardest "low" since coming to the mission field---two young North American teachers from our girls school, Santiago Christian School, were in a serious car accident and one of them, Megan (above left) was killed.  The other, Audrey, has fortunately recovered physically and is now back with her parents in the states.

These young gals were so full of life and were here to "make a difference" in the lives of young people on the island--they had been mentors and good friends to both Rachael and Rebekah.

Our daughters are still grieving the loss of Megan and we would very much appreciate your prayers as well as prayers for the families of the two young teachers.  Both sets of parents came to the island after the accident and we were able to spend time with them and experience a beautiful memorial service for Megan..  Megan's parents were an incredible example of faith in action--their testimony as well as Megan's life here will serve to bless and motivate many to truly "live life for Christ".

And speaking of "living life" here are some beautiful pictures of the Mother's Day celebration we had at the church---we are seeing more "families" coming

Here are two sisters with their daughters and their mom and dad

Grandmother, mother and daughter

Our worship leader Joel with his mom and step-dad

Cherry with a new small group of young women in a nearby community

And "new life in Christ"---we just baptized four new Christ followers last Sunday---including Dave's brother Tim who had been baptized as an infant but had always wanted to make this proclamation of faith as an adult--it was very special for us as a family and for our body of believers to witness this special moment...

Rachael baptizing Liri who is part of the teen small group

Jose Miguel with two of his new disciples.

We just celebrated a beautiful "high"---Rachael graduated from high school-

my how she has grown and changed!!  God has been so faithful to care so well for our family here and stateside...

                                                              A very proud father!!!

So blessed to celebrate with family--son Shane, and Dave's brother and sister

We are very much looking forward to our visit to Illinois this month---see the side panel on the right for our dates stateside and for our open houses.  We hope to see as much family and friends and supporters as possible.  Also take a look at the side panel for new prayer requests and words to encourage you along your way.

By God's grace and for His glory,

The Dave Schwulst family
